Mobile-First or Desktop-First?

In a world where over 60% of users are on mobile phones, should we always design mobile-first? Or are there cases where Desktop-First is better?

I believe in the Mobile-First approach in most cases, especially for consumer products. But there are important exceptions like project management tools (Jira, Asana) and design tools (Figma) where Desktop-First is more suitable because users need a large workspace.

Good analysis with practical examples. Could have gone deeper into Desktop-First cases.
